Kim Argenta

"Before my husband and I moved here to Black Mountain three years ago, I owned and operated a teaching art studio in New York State for 12 years. My students ranged in ages from 5 to 92 years. I especially enjoyed teaching children. I loved watching their creativity blossom, and that the younger children weren’t put inside that 'box' of creativity yet. But what I enjoyed most was teaching those who were in that 'box' and to teach them to create outside of it. And I like to use unconventional materials that force the imagination to come out. I want every child I teach to believe they are an artist and what they create is special and unique to them."

"I am a mixed media artist and watercolorist and paint intuitively. My inspiration comes from the beautiful botanicals that surround us. I also love bright and happy colors. I’ve named myself 'the Happy Artist.' I have pieces displayed at The Trailhead Restaurant in Black Mountain, in my studio at the Red House Studios at 101B Cherry Street, and at a local air B&B. I was the featured artist in the Belle Upstate magazine in March, 2024."
